Deep beneath the lakes of New England dwells Nimueh, the hidden goddess of the waters. Her form shifts with the currents, hair entwined with reeds, eyes glinting like submerged stones. She whispers to the fish and glides among the roots, healing what men pollute. When oil slicks the surface or trash sinks below, her wrath rises in silent waves. Legends say those who respect the lakes may catch her reflection at dusk, a reminder that the waters are watched—and protected.
UPSIDE DOWN series
A surreal and slightly sarcastic series. Each photograph features different rooms of a typical New England home, but the housewife is turned upside down. Like the antipodes from Lewis Carroll’s tale, flipped in Alice’s eyes when she tumbled into Australia through the rabbit hole. The model for this series is Irina Vladi, a Russian native who has lived in the U.S. for over 20 years. Throughout these years, she has always felt a bit like an antipode herself.
GLOWING series
TRANQUIL LANDS series
TINY PRECIOUS WORLD series
A series of scanograms, where each photograph feels like a fragment of a child’s dream, with magical animals floating above enchanted trees in a night sky lit by a strange moon.
